I liked Tofino, the room size was good, the bed was comfortable. The staff unfortunately wasn't very good at replenishing things like toilet paper or morning coffee.
The staff was lazy. and the level of cleanliness wasn't the greatest. eg. we showed up 3 hours after "check in" time and the room was not cleaned yet, there was hair and what not on the floor in the bathroom. I could go on more but you get the point. maybe they were having an off day.
The convenience of Duffin Cove to the town of Tofino. We did not have to drive to any of our excursions, shops, or restaurants, we just walked to everything.
The hotel was just fine for our purposes.
Very friendly, right by the sea and walking distance to everything.
It is starting to get a little run down so not as fresh and renovated as it should be for the money
Room and hotel site very poorly maintained - room patio door coming off runners so couldn't open to use patio / numerous lights not working / several power points not working / path and stairs to room -wood rotting in places & overgrown plants / room veiw obscured by overgrown trees very expensive and overall hotel in a very sad condition
the position is good looking at duffin cove. rooms has a balcony with a good view
it is a motel/cabin not a resort as the name implies! it this was the deluxe room i really do not want to stay on a basic one! the cabin was quite run down the room was somewhat clean but did not leave a good impression. no facilities of any sort. we were lucky with our neighborough being quiet like us otherwise will be a nightmare being the room very poorly isolated
The staff is the first impression one gets as one arrives to stay in any type of accomodation. The staff at Duffin cove were very hospitable, they honor the true sense of good Customer Service. They make you feel at home with their attentive, quality service.I Would recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to that part of Vancouver Island. It is also situated at such a good location, next to the town of Tofino, and, the beaches plus attractions(excursions).
The only weak point I see is that, though the place was nice, tidy and clean, there should be more ocean theme decor, this is easy, seashells abound on the seashore as well as driftwood. Why not have some here and there, mostly in the living room. Why not add posters or pictures promoting the area attractions...It is such a great part of Vancouver Island, beauty is everywhere.
Nice location with great view. Staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean.
I thought the barbecue area should have been better. More shelving in the room would be nice. There were no hooks to hang up coats. This was painful as it rain every day.
Nice Hotel, nice ocean view, pets friendly
the location was great
Overall the resort needs to do some major renovations and updating to stay in the competition
rustic, charming, comfortable, beautiful location
Exquisite outlook and very convenient location close to all local facilities
The decor could benefit from an update or a little tlc!
over looked ocean
Excellent location in Tofino - it can rightfully claim to be the best location with a great view of the water and islands toward the west and it is really "downtown" at the same time with the main stores at the corner of the street. We did like our stay even though the facilities are somewhat aged. In that regard we did notice some poor electrical wiring, which is of course a concern, and the absence of a smoke detector in the room. Also, the room are not very well sound-insulated but we had quiet neighbours so it was not a concern for us.
As stated above: a little dated, upgrade electrical system.
Room was clean and spacious. Newly renovated bathroom and new appliances in kitchen. Dishes and utensils provided. Plenty of towels in bathroom. Double bed was really comfortable. So were the sofas. All in all, very satisfied with accommodation. Outside appearance needs more attention. Wooden planks along sidewalk needs repair. So are many lights along sidewalk. Deck chairs not very inviting.
The room was very clean but very outdated. The tiolet leaked and the sofa couch was not very comfortable. I didn't feel entirely safe when sitting out on the deck when it would move when another guest walked around on their deck. The view however was great. If this place was updated it would be an excellent place to stay.
